In which the Guardian team lends a hand for a mystery Wu Xie still wonders about.

Like everyone in Longcheng, Zhao Yunlan grew up hearing stories of the dragon whose body encircled the city. Most of them said that Longcheng’s prosperity—and isolated safety from the demons that were said to haunt the mainland—were due to the dragon’s guardianship, which made sense; why else would the city be named as it was? There was nothing particularly draconic about the city, nor any mountain or lake shaped like a dragon’s face. It must be named in thanksgiving, or so the legends went.

Still, it was one thing to hear the stories.

It was quite another to meet them face-to-face.

Shen Wei, Wu Xie and Zhao Yunlan have a talk about the thunder and how Wu Xie actually lost his soulfire.

The team climbs up the mountain (Kunlun) and everything seems to be going great. Until it's not and now Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei have to figure out how to save a soul.

A super short story - Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan, a married couple, taking advantage of the quiet time of the holiday and having an escapade in the office after hours. It's mature but not explicit - still 19+ imho.

With Zhao Yunlan's recklessness, the truth is out. Now, he has to deal with the consequences while the team decides to travel all the way to Kunlun Mountain to hopefully find out more about the blade and its backstory.

Zhao Yunlan sets aside his anger and does what his heart wants to.

Finally, Zhao Yunlan pushed in the way that he knew Shen Wei would never resist. “I’m curious. I want to meet the one that made you save him without even a thought. I want to know who else managed to awaken the goodness I knew you had within you from the start.” Shen Wei could never refuse to give Zhao Yunlan anything he wanted. He wasn’t quite ready to admit to himself it was something he wanted too.

How Shen Wei first met Wu Xie and with the support of his partner, Zhao Yunlan, how he found Wu Xie once more and gave a chance to all the strange things the man made him feel.

Zhao Yunlan stirs slightly in his sleep, throwing his arm to his side, and feels- nothing.

"Shen Wei...?" He mumbles sleepily and eventually opens his eyes. The light shines dimly through the curtain, it is still early in the morning. Zhao Yunlan whines as he sits up on his bed. Where is his husband?

“Let me help you. Please.”
“Why? Why do you care about me?”
“Let’s just say I don’t like seeing young men like you looking like they just got mugged wandering around my streets. Bad for my image,” he said it like it was a joke, but Yunlan didn’t get it. If his headache wasn’t as bad and his whole body didn’t ache, he might be more suspicious about what this man said, but honestly the offer of actually having someone look after him sounded so nice.

When Wu Xie finds an injured Zhao Yunlan on the streets, he goes out of his way to help the other back to his apartment, both because of genuine concern and interest in who is beating people up on his family's turf. Zhao Yunlan accepts help from a stranger in a moment of pain filled desperation and has to handle the stubborn help Wu Xie offers.

One morning, Luo Fei comes across a bouquet of roses on Ben Jieming's desk. Sending flowers to the dead is common, but not while they're still in the morgue.
Luo Fei is confused.

This is my recreation of what happens after 'Shen shen' extra.

A brief summary of the past lives Zhao yunlan lived. He never meets Shen wei. But somehow their connection remains.

At last they come together.

Shen Wei explains the truth behind the memory of the crow tribe.

"How much did you drink again?" Truly, the last time with one bowl of alcohol and he fainted pretty quickly after well- well tearing Zhao Yunlan's clothes off, not that he complained about it. But Hei Lao Ge has been up for quite too long this time, acting stranger than the last time even.

The Black-Cloaked Envoy tilts his head slightly, lifting up one finger in front of Zhao Yunlan's face then he blinks, shaking his head, and lift another finger up. Hei Lao Ge's mouth turns into a small smile: "Two sips."

Zhao Yunlan has a special talent for getting into trouble, but luckily he has Shen Wei and his team to help him.
