[Prompt:] Shen Wei sneaking a kiss to Zhao Yunlan's head as he sleeps, very tender and sweet. Zhao Yunlan may or may not be secretly awake to try and prove to himself that he’s getting this affection in secret.

Zhao Yunlan laughs. “What you must think of me, Shen-jiaoshou.” He reaches into his jacket and produces a black leather wallet. Which turns out to hold a badge, and an ID card.

“You’re a policeman?” says Shen Wei, shocked.

“A director of police, actually,” replies Zhao Yunlan. “Usually I would’ve sent one of my staff, but we’re short-handed at the moment, and this really can’t wait. Shen-jiaoshou, we suspect one or more of your students may be involved in manufacturing drugs off-campus. I want to find out who it is. Do you have any ideas?”

Zhao Yunlan doesn't really know what to expect when he finally gets Shen Wei naked and in his bed—well, not quite naked yet, and only with the firm intention of getting into bed very soon.

During the SID’s interrogation of Shen Wei, in episode 4, Zhao Yunlan sends Da Qing in to take a turn.

Zhao Yunlan grins, knowing exactly where his mind went, and seizes the opportunity. He starts to wipe the milk with the side of his thumb, never breaking eye contact with Shen Wei as he brings it to his mouth.

Shen Wei frantically tints the windows with dark energy before he lets himself melt into the sensation. His shirt is dripping wet, and the drag of fabric across his sensitive skin, over and over again in small circles, makes him gasp into Zhao Yunlan's mouth.

A dimensional accident sends Chu Shuzhi and Guo Changcheng to a dimension of reality in which the SID has a branch in Ye City in the 1930s.

Our heroes find that they have multiple mysteries to solve: Who is behind the killings that left ghosts scattered on the city streets? Who is the figure that the ghosts spotted running toward the crime scene? And how are Chu Shuzhi and Guo Changcheng going to get back home?

The man had a great body. That was just a fact. Zhao Yunlan was comfortable in his sexuality to normally admit such things, but this was Lin Jing they were talking about. They were coworkers. He was annoying too, something Zhao Yunlan was reminded of almost every time the man opened his mouth. Also, Zhao Yunlan would bet extra bonuses for the entire department that if Lin Jing was at all interested in any sort of hook up (which Zhao Yunlan definitely didn’t want), that the man would be a top. Zhao Yunlan knew what he liked and when he was younger he had his own share of awkward make outs that lead nowhere because of realized incompatible preferences. He did not need to relive those moments now, especially not with Lin Jing. He’d trust his gaydar on this one.
To Zhao Yunlan's panic, Zhu Hong didn't seem willing to let it go and just watch him be grumpy and frustrated over something he didn't want to do anything about. She took it as a personal mission.
The hardest part was perhaps how oblivious Lin Jing was to all of this. Especially when they had a murder case that always happened on Halloween, and now it was approaching again.

Zhao Yunlan couldn’t remember a time in his life before he started having the Dreams.

As he leant out of the window wincing at the inevitable paperwork if the new recruit was hurt on the first day on the job, he scanned the area and his eyes landed on an impossible sight. He froze, his whole being now completely focused on the figure down below. It couldn't be. Surely it must be a mistake.

The figure turned and their eyes locked. Chestnut brown to deep fathomless black.

The Guardian Lantern has always fascinated Shen Wei deeply.

[Some tragedies might have been destined from the beginning but once a promise is made, even mountains must move.]

In his conclusion, he was truly inadequate, not because he was unworthy. It was just that he didn't understand the value, until he finally saw someone with a heart. He now lived in the light of that, in the soothing presence of that someone. Two and a half years had passed, and it had been a long time since he'd left.
Of the habits Gui Mian had acquired after he admitted to himself that he, in fact, lived in that place, perhaps the ones that seemed simplest to the eye were the ones that held the greatest meaning.
