The god who had brought them into existence didn't seem to remember that there were two of them and one of them had been left behind.
He could feel that piece of his heart that he tried to keep alive even when he himself was not a living being, slowly dying inside his chest, even when it was beating so hard like he had never felt before.

"The ancients say that it is better not to poke our noses into things that are outside of our control. Chief Zhao, tell me how different do you think dixingren are from us?"

"They feel pain, happiness, sadness, pleasure, just like us. Whether we are human, spirit, or dixingren, we have the same right to live."

"I don't care what you think of him! He may be Hei Pao Shi, he may be one-third ghost, one-third god, and one-third dixingren, but he is not immortal, and if you don't go help him, then I will!"

"You can't just go out like this!"

"You are forgetting one thing, Brother Ma Gui... In my time, I'm the Guardian. A group of ghosts are nothing for me!"

Yunlan finds himself an unexpected package one day on the way to meet Professor Shen Wei

When he sees his co-star's smile widen, his own posture relaxes instantly. An immediate trust blossoms between them —so sudden it feels almost unnatural.
Neither believes in fate, only that hard work paves the path one chooses to follow.
Yet that encounter changes them forever.

He looks at Kunlun's side profile, so close, so peaceful, so absolutely breathtaking, and he wants to feel the scratchiness of his jaw under his lips. Zhao YunLan lives his new life as the wick of the guardian lantern. Every day, he burnt mercilessly inside the lamp so that he can provide a better life for the DiXing people.

Until one day, an unusually beautiful comet passing him. Zhao YunLan recklessly makes wishes, which are brought into reality.

But what going to happen if every wish has its consequence?

It's always Shen Wei, who cries first.

Many times he had tried not to go back, telling himself that he had already satisfied all his sexual curiosities, that he did not depend on it. That he would not become a slave to it as once - he now realized - he had been a slave to the hunger. And 'staying' implied permanence. He had no intention of staying there, in the human world, with that person, or even alone. He also had not, before, possessed any intention of anything other than 'knowing what sex felt like', just once, just enough to try to understand types of emotions that he seemed incapable of, but that his brother possessed. Just enough to disturb a little of the spiritual peace of that man, who perhaps had failed to be a monk - or perhaps never had tried.

"You mean to tell me, this, this mirage of a man is Shen Wei, highest-score-in-every-subject-Shen-Wei? Valedictorian-by-the-end-of-the-year-Shen-Wei?"

"I can’t believe you’ve never seen his face. Do you even pay attention during assemblies?"

"Assembly is my nap time, you know that, Da Qing."

Shen Wei sacrifices a lot more than just taking in a little light energy while healing Zhao Yunlan.

Can he still fight while hiding his predicament or will the sky fall on him?

Da Qing sauntered over with the air of a fond uncle and perched on the table next to Guo Changcheng. “Xiao Guo, you’re a good kid. I’m going to do you a favour, and this favour involves you doing a small task.”

"Gege, they're saying you're a Christmas angel. Is that true?" A little boy who should be the leader of the bunch of despicable little creatures dared to address him.
He wasn't so cruel as to want to rip out the child's tongue just because he had spoken to him, though. And by all accounts, he didn't know what a Christmas angel was.
"I'm afraid I must be a Christmas Ghost, little sir," he replied with a wave of his hand, shooing the children away. When they scattered and regrouped towards the plump old man in red, he sighed in relief. "Perhaps this is my signal to leave this place for good..."
Many people blended together in Zhao Yunlan's sight, all bundled up in coats and bustling around, but one man stood out. He stood nearby, enjoying a warm cup of cider from one of the stalls, watching the silver haired man that had caught his eye not too long ago.
“Why a ghost and not an angel?” he asked in a way of greeting as he stopped to stand beside the silver haired man.

Gui Mian just wanted to know what the city was like before he tore it all down, but he had unfortunately chosen a bad time. A Christmas market definetely wasn't in his plans.
