“Where is Shen Wei?” Zhao Yunlan demanded. “What have you done with him?”

“Done?” Ye Zun’s eyebrows rose. “Nothing. What would I even do?”

“I wouldn’t put anything past you. Where is he?”

“He’s… sleeping.” Ye Zun’s gaze unfocused slightly and drifted off to the side. “He needed a rest.” The dark eyes snapped back to Zhao Yunlan, sharp once more. “And I needed a word with you.”

He’s still wary of the Dixingren in his team, but the SID is facing criminals with superpowers, and he has to fight fire with fire. Not much use if his flamethrower is just a zippo, though.

There was no such thing as 'loving too much'. He was sure that he could always love Shen Wei a little more every day. For all the love Shen Wei had been deprived of for millennia. Kunlun would have lived just to love him, if that had been possible.

Stumbling across him, incredible, powerful, inimitable, in this disreputable bar entertaining a drunken crowd, it must be fate.

Shen Wei meets someone he knows but who doesn't know him. Kunlun was born as a slave, and he is very, very pretty. Shen Wei struggles with the temptation he can't simply escape because leaving him in this situation is not an option.

"Where is Hei Lao Ge?" Zhao Yunlan asks the guard as he has gone around the camp looking for Shen Wei for half an hour without a trace of him.

"Hei Lao-? Oh, you meant Hei Pao Shi Daren? I saw him heading into the forest an hour ago, my Lord." The guard bows at him, gesturing towards the forest direction.

Sitting in the armchair by the window, he turned the page of the book, paying attention to the notes that the previous owner had made on the edges. It was curious to him how one could get to know a person just by reading what they chose to highlight and comment on in the text of a work. Shen Wei had several books that had once belonged to that same person. It was like an intimate friend he had never met. Maybe that person was already dead, but that thought didn't make Shen Wei sad or happy. It was just the fortune of being human. Shen Wei didn't know if that fortune now also belonged to him. After all, part of him was human too.

Changcheng tried very hard to be serious and look chastened as Chu-ge yelled at him. Chu-ge was mad that he didn't stand up for himself. Chu-ge told him to have more self worth. Chu-ge was mad, but there was an underlying sadness and disappointment that Changcheng thought so little of himself.

And he couldn't very well tell Chu Shuzhi that the reason he had been so self-deprecating was that he didn't like how she looked at him. He definitely couldn’t say that he had been put off because she looked at him the way he wanted Chu-ge to.

Guo Changcheng has an idea he wants to try out. Chu Shuzhi and Ye Huo go along with it.

Zhao Yunlan has inherited his father's prejudices about Dixingren. He sees them as violent and untrustworthy.
Yet, a case finds him facing a Dixingren crying in regret over what he did. And professor Shen is nothing like he expected any Dixingren to be.

Amidst a multi-layered case, Zhao Yunlan questions his prejudice, gets to know Shen Wei, and makes some discoveries about Hei Pao Shi.

Shen Wei, recently arrived to Haixin to begin his life as a student at the Dragon City University, suspects this clinic is a bit unusual. Something he can only ascertain by coming there in person. And he does need to have a medical history if he wants to blend in.
