“This boy. He has an unlucky countenance.” He says, a frown dredging the canals on his brow and his eyes flickering cataract-white. “He has a hard road ahead. And his eye—”

“His eyes are beautiful,” she interrupts. A-Lan opens them just then, and they are as big and bright as the future she is already painting for him. “Jiugong, you know face-reading and all that is just superstition.”

Zhao Yunlan had a shitty day. His boyfriends take care of him.

Zhao Yunlan took his time to say his goodbyes from work that evening. Shen Wei waited, like he always did, watching him chat with an amiable smile, clapping his subordinates on the shoulders as he finished conversing with each of them in turn, before finally he made his way to the door. He began to walk home, his hands tucked into his pockets, and he whistled a tune as he went.

Shen Wei peeled his way from the shadows and followed him, careful not to get so close as to draw attention without losing Zhao Yunlan in the winding streets of Dragon City.

Shen Wei watched Zhao Yunlan, often. But what if he was being watched back?

A moment of peace so exquisite even Zhao Yunlan surrenders to it - how can he not, with Shen Wei and Da Qing right there with him?

With the help of a few students and a very dedicated IT department representatives, Shen Wei became a bit flummoxed, but proud owner of ‘Haixing Questions Corner’ email box. With his signature being set as ‘Ghost of Dixing’; (‘to make people feel more at ease’, the nice student told him even though Shen Wei had seen nothing especially friendly about ghosts exactly), and with his personal computer reinforced to withstand Shen Wei’s powers existing in its general vicinity, he was ready to help.

Shen Wei approaches him holding a dish towel, making as if to take the menace from him. “Don’t come close,” Zhao Yunlan warns, only half-joking. He’d sworn in his wedding vows to protect him, and that promise covers the gamut of threats from self-martyrdom to tiny kittens who seem to be composed primarily of knives.

Or: Da Qing finds some kittens on a rainy night. Three millennia-old beings fuss over them.

“I’ve always been here. I was simply… Asleep. Up there, in the mountain,” Kunlun raised his finger to point at the mountain peak ahead of them.
“Why did you wake up?” the Black Brother asked, and Kunlun smiled at him.
”I was needed.”

Shen Wei sits stunned, a foreign heat creeping up his neck as he stares at this small, shameless creature.

Zhao Yunlan is a morning person. Shen Wei... is not.

Shen Wei has found himself the fixer for a major warlord’s favorite hit-man. Though he’s watched the man he loves be reborn into countless lives, this is one of the few times he’s allowed himself the joy and agony of close proximity.

“If I could bring you as much joy as you gave me from the barest touch of your lips, I would be satisfied.”

“Wish I could stay,” Shen Wei says slowly, staring as Zhao Yunlan begins casually doing up his buttons. The tailored shirt lets him feel every brush of his fingers, almost hot through the fine fabric. “I have, um.”

Or: Zhao Yunlan helps Shen Wei get dressed for work. It’s a bit horny and a bit tender. That’s it, that’s the fic.

"What are they doing?" The question from the young Ghost King wasn't a surprise; he was endlessly curious, and Kunlun found himself indulging even the most foolish queries more often than not. What was a surprise was that this time, Kunlun himself wasn't sure.
