"Aha!" Zhao Yunlan cheers. Like the rest of the faculty dragon boat team, Shen Wei is wearing a tank top with the DCU logo stamped on his back, his arms bare in a rare public state of undress. No one watching could mistake Professor Shen for a helpless, nerdy academic now. Not with those arms on display, the muscles not overly bulky but solid and well-defined — arms that Zhao Yunlan is smugly very familiar with.

Da Qing went from his family being two people back to three people, with the return of his beloved brother who had been missing for the past decade.
Kunlun went from top mercenary in the Primordials to Zhao Yunlan, a simple student with a loving family and previous life history just on the exciting edge of mysterious.
There are many things brewing in Dragon City, both friend and foe. Though, Zhao Yunlan doesn't quite want to bother with such things. A wonderful mystery appeared in the shape of someone named Shen Wei, and Zhao Yunlan isn't someone to back off from a good mystery.

“I swear, one of these days we will have to make a movie without Shen Wei in it,” Da Qing said and flopped onto his chair next to Zhao Yunlan.
“Don’t see a reason to,” Zhao Yunlan replied, not looking away from Shen Wei pacing around the set that mimicked an ancient palace. He looked good in his black robes billowing behind him and with a sword in his hand - then again, there was hardly any costume Shen Wei didn’t look good in. It was a perk of the job.

The Kunlun Studio and its daily struggles with their lead star (infatuated), their director (in love) and the rest of the crew (tired). That's it, there is no plot, just a lot of references and behind the scenes shenanigans.

Kunlun finds a sweet Little Beauty in a cave and decides he is his to keep.

Wei meets the most radiant and beautiful person he has ever seen and decides he wants to be his.

"You should try doing the airplane," Zhao Yunlan suggests to him as Shen Wei gathers another spoonful. Shen Wei gives him a sideways glance and raises an eyebrow.

"I don't know how you expect me to know what 'doing the airplane' means," Shen Wei responds.

Shen Wei hates that he is so competent, hates that he is so unlike Kunlun, his predecessor. He hates how much he yearns for his return every time Zhao Yunlan goes away.

When Shen Wei meets Zhao Yunlan again years after their breakup, he doesn't expect it to hurt this much.
