Shen Wei knows what he has to do: act his part to get close to (and perhaps, seduce) Kunlun, then find an opening for them to assassinate him.

The first part is easy. Kunlun, as ruthless and unshakeable as he's made out to be, falls quickly into Shen Wei's grasp. The second part, however, seems to become more and more impossible the longer Shen Wei plays this game.

And it's not for the reasons Shen Wei was afraid of.

"Shen Wei," Zhao Yunlan starts, adjusting himself by moving an arm to lay across the back of the couch and angle himself towards the other better. It's his turn to fix a gaze on Shen Wei's face. "Why haven't we done anything yet?"

Shen Wei pauses for a moment, swallows. His eyes finally leave Zhao Yunlan, and fall elsewhere. "...You'll have to be more specific," he replies, voice lowered.

"Tada!" Zhao Yunlan announces as he tugs the hood of the costume onto Da Qing's head. "S.I.D's very own tiger mascot for the new year!"

I turned my little WeiLan vidlet into a full fledged video. Mostly Shen Wei wearing his heart on his sleeve. Also mostly fluff, no death and no I don't acknowldge or accept the show ending. Book ending is the only right one.

After what was almost the end of the world, Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei celebrate their very first Lunar New Year at home in the kitchen.. though both have a very different idea of celebration.

So maybe Zhao Yunlan should order that Kiss The Cook apron he'd seen online, not that he actually needs the encouragement.

“Would Your Honour like to see in the New Year with us?” The invitation is out of Zhao Yunlan’s mouth before he realizes it. Even though he knows what the reaction of his employees will be, he has a sudden wish that the Ghost Slayer would accept.

Zhao Yunlan turns around to throw a glare at the black cat. “You need a diet, Damn Cat! Do you want Zao-ye to tell the Heavenly Emperor all about how greedy you are?”

“Like a little firepit god is going to tell on the household of Lord Kunlun and the Ghost Slayer!” Da Qing’s tail sticks up in irritation as he lets out an angry meow. “This is ridiculous. Even the Heavenly Emperor is just a bureaucrat compared to you!”

In which Shen Wei tries to be responsible, Da Qing is exasperated, and Zhao Yunlan drinks a minor god under the table.

Zhao Yunlan's voice snaps him out of his self-reprimand. 

"Shen Wei. Have you thought about us having a kid?"

The chopsticks Shen Wei was holding clatter loudly onto the table.
