But this is not sustainable.

Zhao Yunlan is the prince of Haixing. Though his father is kind of a douchebag, he also has great friends, a comfortable life and the people of the kingdom who love him with all their heart. And though he likes taking long rides in the forest, he - of course - never met a dragon before. Nobody has for a long time now. People don’t even really believe in them anymore, they only exist in fairy tales and in the imagination of little kids. Or so thought Zhao Yunlan. But meeting a mysterious man with a black cloak turns everything upside down.

Shen Wei doesn’t know what makes him come inside the shop. It is not a very remarkable place, off the beaten track really, hidden in one of the small alleys of the old town. True, it is getting late and the clouds suggest the possibility of rain in the near future, but Shen Wei is not far from his home so he doesn’t really need to seek shelter right now. Still, he stops in front of the shop.

Ye Zun and Zhao Yunlan are having yet another fight over another inane thing when Ye Zun says something that throws Zhao Yunlan off. Turns out, Shen Wei forgot to mention a few things to Ye Zun about his release from the Ministry prison.

Yunlan is held captive by Shen Wei, his ex-boyfriend. And that's about it.

It's not exactly surprising or unexpected that it happens. Shen Wei should have expected it, all things considered. He supposes he just didn't expect Zhao Yunlan to get so impatient that he'd bike over on his lunch break and corner Shen Wei at his desk.

"Aha!" Zhao Yunlan cheers. Like the rest of the faculty dragon boat team, Shen Wei is wearing a tank top with the DCU logo stamped on his back, his arms bare in a rare public state of undress. No one watching could mistake Professor Shen for a helpless, nerdy academic now. Not with those arms on display, the muscles not overly bulky but solid and well-defined — arms that Zhao Yunlan is smugly very familiar with.

Da Qing went from his family being two people back to three people, with the return of his beloved brother who had been missing for the past decade.
Kunlun went from top mercenary in the Primordials to Zhao Yunlan, a simple student with a loving family and previous life history just on the exciting edge of mysterious.
There are many things brewing in Dragon City, both friend and foe. Though, Zhao Yunlan doesn't quite want to bother with such things. A wonderful mystery appeared in the shape of someone named Shen Wei, and Zhao Yunlan isn't someone to back off from a good mystery.

“I swear, one of these days we will have to make a movie without Shen Wei in it,” Da Qing said and flopped onto his chair next to Zhao Yunlan.
“Don’t see a reason to,” Zhao Yunlan replied, not looking away from Shen Wei pacing around the set that mimicked an ancient palace. He looked good in his black robes billowing behind him and with a sword in his hand - then again, there was hardly any costume Shen Wei didn’t look good in. It was a perk of the job.
