He’d sworn in his wedding vows to protect him, and that promise covers the gamut of threats from self-martyrdom to tiny kittens who seem to be composed primarily of knives.

“I’ve always been here. I was simply… Asleep. Up there, in the mountain,” Kunlun raised his finger to point at the mountain peak ahead of them.
“Why did you wake up?” the Black Brother asked, and Kunlun smiled at him.

Shen Wei sits stunned, a foreign heat creeping up his neck as he stares at this small, shameless creature.

Zhao Yunlan is a morning person. Shen Wei... is not.

Shen Wei has found himself the fixer for a major warlord’s favorite hit-man. Though he’s watched the man he loves be reborn into countless lives, this is one of the few times he’s allowed himself the joy and agony of close proximity.

“If I could bring you as much joy as you gave me from the barest touch of your lips, I would be satisfied.”

“Wish I could stay,” Shen Wei says slowly, staring as Zhao Yunlan begins casually doing up his buttons. The tailored shirt lets him feel every brush of his fingers, almost hot through the fine fabric. “I have, um.”

Or: Zhao Yunlan helps Shen Wei get dressed for work. It’s a bit horny and a bit tender. That’s it, that’s the fic.

"What are they doing?" The question from the young Ghost King wasn't a surprise; he was endlessly curious, and Kunlun found himself indulging even the most foolish queries more often than not. What was a surprise was that this time, Kunlun himself wasn't sure.

Shen Wei was granted a chance to save Zhao Yunlan. He succeeded.
From a distant place, the lonely god smiles. Maybe, one day, the one he loves most will also return.

"Aha!" Zhao Yunlan cheers. Like the rest of the faculty dragon boat team, Shen Wei is wearing a tank top with the DCU logo stamped on his back, his arms bare in a rare public state of undress. No one watching could mistake Professor Shen for a helpless, nerdy academic now. Not with those arms on display, the muscles not overly bulky but solid and well-defined — arms that Zhao Yunlan is smugly very familiar with.

I worked hard to cast away all that made me feral and uncultured. I worked until all those aspects of me separated from me and formed a separate entity within me. That entity is called Ye Zun.

After millennia of being asleep, Ye Zun wakes up again and battles Shen Wei for dominion. The timing coincides with Zhao Yunlan's birth. Is it the reincarnation of Kunlun that woke Ye Zun up? Or is it the cracking of the Great Seal?

Following a disastrous cooking attempt from Zhao Yunlan, Shen Wei decides to teach him a simpler recipe. Meanwhile Yunlan has other plans for their fun times together in kitchen.

Da Qing is, above all else, a cat.
