His t-shirt is one Shen Wei hasn't seen him in before - pale green and v-necked, and so thin that the shadows of his nipples show through underneath.

Shen Wei's mouth goes dry. All his tiredness has gone and he feels bursting with life, curious. Hungry.

The SID has been called in for a Dixing-powered theft at the botanical gardens. In a bid to lose the pursuers, the thief throws himself into the forest. As he rounds a bush, a dark figure appears before him. He skids to a stop. The appearance is wearing a cloak and a black mask, and the crook starts to sweat nervously. He didn’t expect the Black Cloak Envoy to show up and apprehend him!

He also didn’t expect him to be so small.

Domesticity and grocery shopping

The man emerging from Shen Wei’s apartment wasn’t Shen Wei. (Set just before episode 8.)

Shen Wei was with Zhao Yunlan eating together in his office because he have a break from the job, and Yè Zun décide to bother them.
Because he likes to bother them.

But this time it's will have the repercussion of his life with the person with who he is.

Doctor Zhao Yunlan leads an archaeology expedition to a hitherto uninvestigated set of well-preserved abandoned buildings. The biologist contingent is very interesting. As are the buildings. And the artefacts they hide within them.

As government events went, Da Qing had been to worse. As far as parties went, though, it was abysmal.

The front door closes, Yurong’s footsteps recede, and Lu Wenyi, sitting at the kitchen table, finds herself truly alone for the first time in weeks. (A companion piece to All the Colours of the World.)

"Hey," Zhao Yunlan says, hopping off the table so he can gather Shen Wei into a proper embrace, rubbing a hand between Shen Wei's shoulder blades. "Hey, it's okay. There's nothing there."
