Maybe none of that happened. Maybe they're both in the hut, or in Dragon City, and Zhao Yunlan is not actually dying at the bottom of some mountain in the middle of nowhere.

"Fine, you work and I'll just do this—" Zhao Yunlan continues to unbutton the shirt, and then lies down with his face in Shen Wei's lap, pressing his forehead against Shen Wei's bare stomach. "You're so cold. This is heaven."

"They really wanted it to be true."

Bai Yu knows exactly what Long-ge is talking about — Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan. And, more importantly, not Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan.

Zhao Yunlan may be exhausted, but he's not this exhausted.

By the time the battle was over, high above the streets of Dragon City, Shen Wei's face was pale—so pale that one might think the blood streaming through Zhao Yunlan's fingers was his. Zhao Yunlan chuckled, though the sound was a little hoarse even in his own ears.

"It's not that bad, Shen-laoshi," he said lightly as he sat down rather abruptly atop the flat roof of the abandoned building. Objectively, he knew that Shen Wei was already aware of that, but it seemed like he might need the words to ground him a little. That he might need to hear the sound of Zhao Yunlan's voice.

Well, Zhao Yunlan was always happy to spout bullshit at him. This time, the bullshit even so happened to be true.

Shen Wei arrived home to find the air conditioner broken, the windows open wide, and Zhao Yunlan flopped naked on his back on the bed with his lips wrapped around something long and red.

Da Qing is stalking his most formidable prey... or so he thinks.

The door is locked, that's the important part. (The key card ends up on the floor.)

"Oh heavens, Xiao Wei, you look so beautiful right now."

The words slip out before he can stop them, and he's already mentally scolding himself for saying the least helpful thing when he registers Shen Wei's reaction—eyes wide, lips parted, suddenly so entirely unguarded that Zhao Yunlan forgets how to breathe.

Maybe he shouldn't always believe himself, but this opens up so many tantalizing possibilities that he can't help quipping, "If this is a dream, can I just magic away your clothes?"

It's as hot as it is frustrating that Kunlun is wrapped in layers of perfectly arranged fabric while casually doing this to Zhao Yunlan.

"I didn't say it was your dream."

Shen Wei's experience in the pocket dimension is a lot different from Zhao Yunlan's. First of all, it features a lot more fucking. Also there's the fact that each dimension has one more incarnation of Zhao Yunlan doing the fucking. Will poor Shen Wei's dick hold out long enough for him to escape? Such great peril!

Zhao Yunlan's first visit to Dixing (ep 17) reveals the reason for his mother's death and the origin of his father's magic gun.

Bai Yu presses a quick kiss just under the bruise, hoping it's just as unremarkable and meaningless as all of their easy intimacy has always been, and he laughs, bright and overcompensating. He makes sure to grin, eyes sparkling in his best carefree impression, in an attempt to make Long-ge laugh together with him.

Just another memory for Long-ge to shake his head about, for Bai Yu to treasure forever. He needs many of those, for later.

Zhao Yunlan snags the seat across the table from him and leans in, familiar and intimate. "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" he asks, simply to see Shen Wei blush.

There it is—a faint hint of redness along the exquisite curve of his ears. Zhao Yunlan doesn't hide the smirk that comes to his mouth at the sight of it. Making Shen Wei blush will never get old, no matter how many times he does it.

Or, Zhao Yunlan likes to pester Shen Wei.

The god who had brought them into existence didn't seem to remember that there were two of them and one of them had been left behind.
He could feel that piece of his heart that he tried to keep alive even when he himself was not a living being, slowly dying inside his chest, even when it was beating so hard like he had never felt before.

Zhao Yunlan gets himself nearly killed, yet again. Shen Wei is there to make him better, yet again. And if healing Zhao Yunlan is suspiciously close to sucking him off...well, that's just the price that must be paid.
