Shen Wei stuck his hand out, and the little sprout scrambled up on it. From his palm, though, it seemed unsatisfied, trying to crawl or scramble closer, or—

"I think it wants you," Shen Wei said, smiling gently. He held his hand out to Zhao Yunlan.

Zhao Yunlan held up his hand slowly, and the sprout scrambled over, shuddering a little and then seeming to settle.

“So,” she asks, “what do you think is the best place to do this?”

Xiao-Bai shoots her an impish grin that is offset by the softness hiding in his eyes.

“I was thinking you start on the couch, and then we’ll see what happens.”

or, two weeks after their shoot wraps, Bai Yu calls Ni Ni with a proposition from him and his boyfriend – An experiment, for both of us. Shen Wei wanted to go on a date. But this is not what he had in mind. He thought they'd go to the park for a walk or have a picnic as the sun set. Maybe go hiking! This? This never even crossed his mind.

He knew a man was his destiny, from the time a raven devoured a god's eye.
"Is it a worthy sacrifice for you?"
"Yes," a quiet, pleased reply came from the entity's lips.
All around was misty, scent of dried herbs burning, white smoke dancing.

“When the moon swallowed the sun and night swallowed the earth,” Shen Wei’s voice was a placid whisper, the path of his fingers tracing patterns, “when wolves became kings and men bowed down, there was a time of silence. 'Thought' murmurs to me that I am a wolf, 'memory' murmurs to me that I am night. But my spirit screams that I am a shadow.”

The police chief touched the pair of socks, pale blue with a panda print.
"Agreed. Also, Xiao Wei likes to sleep in socks and these are very soft. I've never seen him wear patterned socks though. But they're bears, so..."
"So we're taking these to him," the antique shop owner said, as he handed that pair of socks to the attendant; "These must be gift-wrapped, please."
The attendant took the items chosen by the couple to the counter, being followed by them. There was no doubt that 'Shen Wei' was the person who would receive the socks, but despite the bait about the dress shoes, was he really the Professor? And if he was, then he... and that couple... them...?

Xiaoge stood to the side with a small smile at his friends. Pangzi's growled threats weren't taken seriously when they were overlapped with Wu Xie's light laughter when they stopped in a stand-off on opposite sides of the campfire. From the corner of his eye, Wu Xie saw Shen Wei returning to the group from the other corridor that connected to the open foyer. "A-Wei! Save me!" he shouted dramatically as he leapt out of the way of another swing of the spoon and toward Shen Wei. His boyfriend gave no protests as Wu Xie used him as a human shield.
"Tianzhen! No fair. Leave the sweet professor out of this. I can't attack you when you're using your innocent partner as protection!" Pangzi stopped and pointed at Wu Xie with the spoon, annoyed.

It was only a matter of time before Shen Wei had the free time and tagged along with the Iron Triangle for one of their tomb raids. How will this little trip go for the Iron Triangle and their new companion?

While going down to the tomb seemed easy for the team, what waits for them behind the secret door is less so. Now they have to deal with an army of the living dead and the fight is about as easy as teaching a pig to fly. So, Zhao Yunlan turns to the only thing he knows will work: Shadow Blitz.

The fact was simple: Wu Xie, the antique shop owner, had been a good friend of Shen Wei for a while - how it had happened was a long and ridiculous story, which Zhao Yunlan had heard five times and had stopped trying to understand, - and he was one of the few people who had always known that Shen Wei was Dixingren. And it was Wu Xie who Shen Wei had chosen to ask for help in his severe case of inability to confess his love - even if that love was something ridiculously explicit at that point.

Wu Xie calls the SID once again to have them help with the exploration of the tomb and the mystery of the blade. And so, the team goes to Hangzhou to uncover the secret of the mysterious blade.

Shen Wei had a plan, he had a goal, a vision of the country he would help to build.
And then, in Shen Wei’s third year at the Imperial Palace, Zhao Yunlan and his Supernatural Investigations Bureau arrived at the court.

For Zhao Yunlan, the concept of "home" will never be simple. Not when he was raised by the vampire who killed his parents, for whom he's developed equally complicated feelings for.

For Shen Wei, it's overwhelmingly clear: Home will always be Zhao Yunlan.

Shen Wei is surprised to find someone who looks like him. But is Wu Xie similar to him in anything other than looks?

“A-Xie.” His name being called out pulls Wu Xie from his wandering thoughts. He looks up to see the composed, glasses wearing figure approaching him. As their eyes meet, both can’t help but smile. Wu Xie openly grinning while Shen Wei keeps his smile subtle, but that’s more than enough for Wu Xie.

A continuation of the hinted date Wu Xie mentions in "Not a Hissy Kitten". After leaving the bar, Wu Xie goes to meet up with his date.

Zhao Xinci goes to Hangzhou to explore a tomb and asks for Wu Sanxing's help. But things do not go the way they expect it

Shen Wei did not need to finish reading that line to decide that he wanted to mark Zhao Yunlan. It wasn’t enough for him that they were married, bound together by law and by the holy, he wanted to bind him too in the most unholy of ways.

And so, he did it, and this is what happened after that...

Back when Zhao Yunlan was still in college, Shen Wei starts teaching a qigong/neigong/tai chi (he has a class on each and then exercises from each) activity at school, after a fellow professor saw him doing an exercise one day and suggested it and then there was interest from his students and then he's suddenly in charge of multiple classes of it.

And then Zhao Yunlan tries to sign up.
