Shen Wei gains a new admirer. It’s sweet—at first.

“Well,” Zhao Yunlan says, grimacing, “technically it’s not just our party – it’s the whole Inspectorate’s. But if I have to make small talk with vice-ministers for an hour and a half, so does everybody else.” He snaps his fingers as if something brilliant has just occurred to him. “You should come!”

Shen Wei gives him a long, silent look for a moment, then ducks his head with a quiet huff of something that might be laughter. “You’ve made it sound so appealing.”

Zhao Yunlan invites Shen Wei to the annual holiday party. It doesn't quite go to plan.

Many unexpected things happen in Zhao Yunlan's life: he ends up working in an office and later finds himself falling in love with a managerial-type.

Zhu Yilong hesitates for a moment. It really has been a long time. The close relationship he'd had with Bai Yu is long gone. The last time they’d seen each other, they’d parted without a word—a silent agreement they would meet again, which they’d reneged on for an unknown reason. Perhaps their relationship had run its course back then.

In a nightclub, Zhu Yilong randomly runs into someone he used to hook up with.

If Bai Yu had to trace the source of all his problems to one thing, it'd have to be Zhu Yilong's unfairly gorgeous face.

The cat took mercy and moved his bony elbows, crawling across Zhao Yunlan until he could sprawl on the far side of the bed, with his head on Shen Wei’s pillow and his legs on Zhao Yunlan’s knees, effectively pinning him in place. “When are you going to buy Shen Wei a new collar?”

Zhao Yunlan skins his knee on the job. Shen Wei overreacts. The rest, as they say, is history.

Shen Wei sees the world in complete darkness except the occasional splash of colours against the backdrop of black Canvas that's his vision. The colour that distinguishes the occasional demons amongst all the humans that surround him; the colour red- the sign of danger lurking around him.

Fate has never been kind, hindering one's life despite no apparent wrongdoings. Shen Wei is royally caught in the middle of such mess, which has caused him to close the doors of his heart for everyone. What happens when the person sneakily tiptoeing into his heart is the possible reason of the condition of his life in the first place?

It’s been ten years since Zhao Yunlan was planted in the triads in his father’s bid to shake their control of Dragon City. Ten years of his life he spent with his name wiped off the records as he ran around with the snakes in the dark. Ten years of his life he's not sure he's going to be able to get out of.

On the other side of the coin, Shen Wei and Ye Zun have spent ten years rising the ranks of the Dragon City Police, feeding information to the triads that kept the city on its knees. Only Shen Wei doesn't quite know why anymore.
