Shen Wei never lets them get further than kissing, and some light touching, and always above the waist. And sure, they haven't known each other for that long, Zhao Yunlan thinks. He gets taking things slow, he does. It's entirely fine, he can wait for Shen Wei. For Shen Wei, he thinks, he'd wait forever.

Shen Wei doesn't have a mobile phone, the SID thinks that's weird. They try to prank him into buying one, it does not turn out as expected.

The SID giving Shen Wei a prank gift, that ends up being one of the handiest gifts he ever received.

As a joke, Zhao Yunlan invents an official celebratory dance to welcome Shen Wei to the SID. What he didn't count on was how much he would enjoy it. Or that Shen Wei would want to practice it again, this time alone.

In time’s eyes, no one is special, everyone falls beneath its hand. Even Time Engravers.

...Shen Wei isn’t a Time Engraver anymore. He was supposed to have learned that by now.

Ye Zun is not surprised that gege's human doesn't like him.

"Anything?" Yunlan played smart with his words.

"Anything." The other affirmed, taking the challenge.

On a morning at breakfast, Shen Wei asks, "Do you think it's fat?"
"If what's fat?" Yunlan looks at him and sucks at his orange.
"My ass..."

Maybe asking Zhao Yunlan to go with him to the party the University had arranged had been a mistake, but it had made Zhao Yunlan happy.

Whether Zhao Yunlan feels bad for the Envoy or not, doesn't matter.

It wasn't until Zhao Yunlan sat up in bed that he noticed there was something—off. His chest felt tender and heavy. He looked down, blinked and then groped at his chest through his t-shirt.

As much as Zhao Yunlan would appreciate some alone time… Being blind in a quiet and empty apartment is… not something he looks forward to.
So. It just slips out after Shen Wei settles him in for the evening.

Newly blinded Zhao Yunlan has some issues with being left alone in his own apartment.

Zhao Yunlan thinks, he might as well try. He needs the money, and the guy is pretty at least. Not that that matters really, but why not have something nice to look at while you're at it?

“I won’t be bothering you?” Shen Wei can’t help but ask even when Zhao Yunlan has answered him before. Like so many things about their relationship, he doesn’t understand -- why Zhao Yunlan loves him, what he gets out of Shen Wei’s prurient interest in his body, a hundred thousand little things about living in this modern day Haixing. Usually this uncertainty doesn’t concern him, but usually he doesn’t care about other people’s opinions as much as he does Zhao Yunlan’s.

The restlessness that has been building for weeks now, shifts and squirms inside him. Shen Wei closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, trying to settle that feeling somewhat. Just for a moment.
