This guy sure has taken that sexed-up catboy stereotype and is throwing it in your face. For some reason, Zhao Yunlan is convinced that that's a very deliberate choice. Going by the slightly disdainful look on the guy's face, Zhao Yunlan is pretty sure he didn't quite manage to hide his initial surprise.

He looked weak, shaky on his legs; already beaten and bleeding from countless wounds, the Black Cloaked Envoy was nothing like the man Ya Ziliang had looked up to.
