Zhao Yunlan is no passive recipient.

Xiao Guo decides to make a group chat with everyone from SID in it so they can communicate better. To say it's a is saying the least. He has all the SID members questioning their lives as their rile one another up. Somehow, couples are formed.

When Zhao Yunlan and his practically-estranged father join forces to figure out the truth about a shady CEO's even shadier death, their investigation brings them to a quiet seaside town.The lengths its Mayor would take to protect it have them paying the price.

Zhao Yunlan needs some help.

"Because if we learned anything from this morning..." Yunlan's voice was already coming out raw, so he lowered it to a near-whisper to keep it steady. "What we've learned is that you need to get better at staying in bed and letting me enjoy you."

Shen Wei has always appreciated the city's nekomimi population. They remind him of his own people, not only in their abilities but in all the ways mainstream society subtly discriminates against them. Since no imbalance can be corrected by equity alone, he’s careful to show them slightly more respect than their human counterparts.

Some of the cat people take a human lover or partner. Some of them choose not to speak to humans at all. Shen Wei respects their choices and their boundaries. He certainly does not fetishize them.

Except for one.

"You don't know why you have a cake in your office? Is there a campus stalker going around leaving goods from expensive bakeries? Or did you learn some pastry-manifestation ability when you weren't paying attention?"

Zhao Yunlan is a street magician. Shen Wei never stays until the end of his performance.

It started with a conversation….

If Yunlan is going to learn how to make actual food that requires more effort than just boiling water and putting hot water into stuff, he’s going to have to take all the notes.

“Right,” he says to himself. “How hard can it be?”

He watches all twenty-two minutes and fourteen seconds of Chef Shen's video without fast-forwarding. When it comes to an end, he clicks on the replay button.

He ends up taking zero notes, and the only thing he manages to learn from the whole exercise is that Chef Shen -Shen Wei- is really fucking beautiful when he smiles.

“Please. Don’t make me wait.”

“I won’t,” Shen Wei whispers.

It’s the sweetest thing Zhao Yunlan’s ever heard.
