At the hotel in the mountains, Zhao Yunlan's not ready to sleep.

"Either get over him or go talk to him; doesn't matter to me which," Da Qing says. "But you've got to take better care of me."

Shen Wei nods, suddenly all business-like, yet still overwhelmingly good-lookingly disheveled and looking freshly-out-of-the-shower in ways that is doing all sorts of things to Zhao Yunlan. “Come in,” he says, nodding again. “Are you badly hurt? I’ll have your jacket sent to the dry-cleaner’s. There are several extra towels in the bathroom cupboard.”
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” Zhao Yunlan laughs. “Just a few scrapes and bruises. Ehey, you don’t have to do that. Oh, thanks-”
Shen Wei literally wrestles him out of his jacket and nudges him very insistently into the bathroom. “I’ll be waiting outside with the medical kit, Chief Zhao,” he says threateningly, before nodding, smiling pleasantly, and shutting the bathroom door, leaving Zhao Yunlan blinking incredulously.

“You could just relax,” Zhao Yunlan says. “You don’t have to be doing something all the time.”

He knows even as he says it that it won't help.

“Fortunately, I am used to getting injured,” Shen Wei says, as he heals the cut on his wrist.

Zhao Yunlan isn’t looking at him, but he sees Shen Wei smiling from the corner of his eyes.

Zhao Yunlan finally turns towards Shen Wei again, hoping that the cursed smile is gone from his face, but it’s still right there on his face, if faint, and he wants to put a genuine expression on Shen Wei’s face. Wants him to look after himself.

He wants him to be okay.

Zhao Yunlan noticed how Shen Wei looked almost jealous of the collar Da Qing received. He of course had to rectify this and get Shen Wei a collar, too.

Zhao Yunlan thought he had seen Shen Wei relaxed and at ease around him. He saw him without his glasses, without the suit jacket and sometimes with his shirt untucked and wrongly buttoned. He saw Shen Wei in sleeping clothes and even naked, but nothing, nothing at all could have prepared him for the sight that met Zhao Yunlan when he entered his apartment.
