It was a peaceful morning out in the Chinese countryside as a tall man with light skin, black hair, and brown eyes hidden behind wire glasses dressed in black pants, a white dress shirt, dress shoes, and suit jacket carrying a bouquet of flowers walked over to an abandoned home that was put up for sale. He then placed the bouquet of flowers down on the ground before the house before kneeling on the ground, putting his hands together in prayer. As he knelt there, his eyes closed, he suddenly felt the muzzle of a gun being pointed at his head, causing him to slowly lower his hands and open his eyes before he turned to see who was pointing a gun at him. When he turned and looked up, his eyes widened in shock.

They drag in the prisoner, throwing him to the floor in front of Shen Wei. He tries not to react, he doesn't like the way Dixing treats its prisoners, but there's little he can do about it. Dixing doesn't have the luxury of being merciful.

One night, a calm and reserved Professor Shen Wei acted on instinct to try to save a woman who he thought was in danger. He accidentally barged inside the club, grabbed the most expensive vase that might be more valuable than a person’s life, and threw it at the man holding the woman’s waist. Zhao Yunlan, who was watching the whole scene, thought he was in an action movie watching his knight in shining armor saving him from danger. He fell in love at first sight and so he pestered the poor professor to join his club as his payment for the broken vase. Will Shen Wei accept the consequences?

Zhao Yunlan had had no intention of waking up again. Dying for the greater good had seemed like a fair trade-off at the time. Even if it meant an eternity of agony.
