Sequel to The Day He Feared but can be read alone if you know that Shen Wei stole Zhao Yunlan from the operation theatre to heal him. So a mess was done and Zhao Yunlan has to deal with it.

Zhao Yunlan came very close to dying, he knows that. He remembers Shen Wei getting in between him and the rogue Dixingren and—then there's nothing more until he's waking up in the SID lab, with a giant black cat resting its head on his chest. Trying to pinpoint the exact species of cat is not on the forefront of his mind.

After losing his parents, Zhao Yunlan has been alienated and isolated from his friends by his current and long-time boyfriend, who abuses him physically, psychologically and emotionally, and has led him to believe that he is the only person he needs in his life. Dramaverse Meets Novelverse.

Instead of traveling back to their own time after their fated trip to the past, Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan are transported to another dimension—a world where they are married with a house. As Zhao Yunlan struggles to make sense of what he’s seen in Ancient Haixing and to ascertain where he stands in his relationship with the professor, the two of them will have to work with their doubles to find a way to return where they belong, complete their unstable set of Hallows, stop Ye Zun before it’s too late, and lastly, address their feelings for each other.
