Even though he wanted to tell Kunlun his name just so he can possibly find him as a human. Another rule was to not fall in love. He clearly broke that one a long time ago.

Zhao Yunlan goes to his parents' house for a family dinner, but things go awry rather quickly when people close to him start dying mysteriously. While Zhao Yunlan tries to make sense of it all, he starts to realize that something is definitely amiss. (Novelverse)

Shen Wei accidentally makes a scene in a fancy restaurant.

Ye Zun begins to finally deal with some unresolved issues.

The creature swipes, long, claw-like fingers shockingly fast. Almost enough to catch on the bottom edge of a jacket. It’s… too close a call, at this point.

A shockwave barrelled through the apartment, causing Zhao Yunlan to awake with a start, adrenaline coursing through his veins. Another shockwave followed, rattling the windows. Zhao Yunlan jumped from his bed. That was Dark Energy rippling through the building. Dark Energy he knew.

“They’re so stupid,” says Ye Zun, staring vacantly at the space above Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan’s heads as they flirt ineptly at each other. “I can’t believe we have to live with this.”

“Mrr,” says Da Qing, and nudges his head against Ye Zun’s hand. Ye Zun resumes scratching his chin.

“This is the worst,” says Ye Zun.

Running a pet shop with his twin brother isn't supposed to have two police officers knocking on their front door at all hours of the day. And yet, here Ye Zun is, making tea for a frazzled Deputy Da Qing.

Guo Changcheng was only given two orders by the Director of MPS before he was let out of the car that transported him from his office to the mission’s location.

First was that he should not completely follow Zhao Yunlan’s directions especially with how he dealt with the Enforcers assigned to him. This, Guo Changcheng believes, is an extremely odd request given that from the stories he’s heard, Zhao Yunlan is able to handle a specialized group of enforcers that only listened to him (if anything, it’d be amazing to see how he managed to do that). And the second was that he should steer clear (“Do not even breathe in his direction.”) of an enforcer named Ye Zun.
