Zhao Yunlan wakes up Shen Wei with a morning surprise for a great start to their day.

During a confrontation with Ye Zun, Zhao Yunlan is sucked into the void and lands in ancient Haixing, 10 000 years before his time. Upon arriving, Zhao Yunlan meets the mysterious and alluring soldier Shen Wei, the past version of the professor he knows so well, and Zhao Yunlan can't help himself from wanting to get to know him better. Ten thousand years passes in the blink of an eye for Shen Wei. The years after waking up do not.

Shen Wei had existed for lifetimes as a reaper who guided souls into their next life. Rarely did he take an interest in people, until he meets the soul of Kunlun.

“It would seem that using the Longevity Dial has as a side-effect that we now feel each other’s pain,” Shen Wei answers.

His fist tightens around Shen Wei’s pendant and, as the flame takes him, starts consuming him, he prays. It’s a quiet thing, a whisper of a thought in the back of his dimming consciousness, that they may meet again one day. That the universe may be kinder to them next time. 

That Shen Wei doesn’t have to wait yet another ten thousand years for him.

Zhao Yunlan knew Shen Wei carried all the baggage of Kunlun's past lives with him. He didn't realize just how true that was until he stumbled upon yet another secret.
