Shen Wei rarely drinks but Zhao Yunlan always enjoys it when he does.

The shard of soul Kunlun Jun gifted his ghost king tethers Shen Wei to Zhao Yunlan when he was supposed to have perished after his big sacrifice - and Shen Wei thinks this is more than enough. Zhao Yunlan, for his part, just wants to know what exactly this creature that kept possessing random people to be near him is - and maybe exorcise it so it can find peace.

“I am not human,” Shen Wei tells him, voice quiet, tight.

It makes Da Qing settle and still, looking at him carefully. Like he’s just remembered that Hei Pao Shi is in his kitchen, bribing him with bites of salmon and generating enough dark energy to fuel a city for a year if anyone could figure out how to harness it.

“Then you know better than to listen to her.”

“I know enough to let it be,” Shen Wei agrees mildly.

The Dixing Diner is open 24 hours, to all manner of people, as long as they can find the place.
