Royal duties run deep but where does it end with love?

Since the death of his mother, Zhao Yunlan is convinced that such thing as genuine happiness would remain as child's fairy tale. His conviction even grew firmer with his father forcing marriage down his throat in guise of royal duty as his lone heir. However, fate may have different plans for a broken soul, heaven's mercy dressed in red named Shen Wei. Is it truly possible to find happiness amidst turmoil or is a tragedy bound from the beginning?

Ghost King Yun Lan finds a little immortal, fucks him, and decides to keep him. Millennia later, Professor Shen Wei meets the Ghost Slayer.

"Don't you think it's interesting?" asked Da Qing. "That the Dixing fortuneteller said that Yunlan was the soulmate of the Black Cloaked Envoy?"

"It's preposterous!" yelled Zhao Xinci. "I will ensure that they never meet, so don't speak such nonsense around me again!"

The ghost kings have been watching him for a while now. Kunlun sits in the Merit Tree, swinging his legs as he contemplates what their plans for him are. He’s been bored but they’re dangerous, like feral little kittens. And it might not end well for him if he were to play with them.

The curtain of Kunlun’s hair falls around them, as if blanketing them in a world only of their own. No other gods or ghosts—only them, never growing tired or old. Drinking in each other, over and over, until they are satisfied.

Zhao Yunlan clenched his fist as he recalls Shen Wei’s hardships paralleled with Ye Zun’s loss of sanity, the ghost lovers’ fate in an effort to protect him, the brewing war as the vision the hallows have given him on their deaths, and an ever burning flame on his soul as he watched Shen Wei disappear stay clear.

“There can’t be anything more dire than that future.”

The two leaders looked at each other meaningfully. “And if the bulk of the repercussions on you twisting the timeline falls on you?”

Zhao Yunlan huffed in amusement and flipped his long hair to his back. “If I'm the one who has to pay then so be it.”]

“Um,” Shen San says, raising his eyes from the scattered papers over the floor. He smiles sheepishly at Wei, spreading his now empty hands. “My mistake?”

“Come here,” Kunlun says carelessly one morning. He is sweeping down the mountainside on some sort of errand, Wei supposes as he trails behind, admiring his graceful steps and upright posture.

Shen Wei gets deaged. But the SID has forgotten that a younger Shen Wei was a ghost king.

10,000 years ago, the world was at war, god vs god, man vs man, man vs god. There was chaos, Kunlun God of the Mountain and his love Shen Wei were at the forefront, trying to save as many as they could.

A powerful God tried to take over the world but was stopped when Kunlun and Shen Wei both lost their lives, and all records were lost.

The gods abandoned humanity. The world that once was abundant in magic became normal. Magic became rare and users hide themselves out of fear of persecution. Monsters roam at night, and SID is tasked to stop them.

When Zhao Yunlan was young, he could see ghosts.
“No, you can’t,” his father said, giving him a stern look.
“Yes, I can! They’re everywhere! They talk to me,” Zhao Yunlan replied stubbornly.

Xia Yue decided to move to a new city in the hopes of starting a new life. As she contemplates where to live, a former colleague offers one—a haunted unit in the famous SNG Condominiums. With desperation to leave everything else behind, she accepted the deal and moved in the next day. A malevolent spirit lurking in there? Sure, it’s nothing to her.

Enter Shen Ye, a famous actor and model, was her neighbor. A man who swooned the heart of the ladies and evoked admiration in men. Despite only a few years in the entertainment industry, there were already many achievements attached to his name.

The mysterious neighbors began suspecting each other after their first encounter by their adjacent balconies. It was at this time that fate decided to play it’s part in their lives. A strong invisible force began to entangle the strings as everything else began to change—the scenery, inexplicable feelings, the uneventful situations they were both in, and Xia Yue found herself reminiscing her tragic past she ultimately wished to be forgotten.

Kunlun was renown for two things: How much he detested getting into conflicts of any kind and the length of his hair. These two things were somewhat related. It was often said that nothing would cause this stubborn god to shear his head, but times change, don't they?

Shen Wei touches his forehead where Kunlun kissed it. He owes something to the god who treats him so gently. So he closes his eyes and searches out for that familiar flame, determined to repay Kunlun for his kindness, no matter how long it may take him to gather up that shattered soulfire.
