Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan are both obliged to attend one of the swankiest, most exclusive parties on Dragon City's social calendar. Of course, the evening can't possibly go smoothly.

Zhao Yunlan's learned something impossible, and he suffers from that knowledge.

Shen Wei, the Black-Cloaked Envoy, stood stiff and startled, holding at arm’s length the small furry bundle Zhao Yunlan had just presented him with. It had nothing to do with Dixing—it wasn’t even Yashou. Had the SID branched out and become an animal shelter on top of its traditional duties? “I— What is this?”

After a disappearance case in Haixing ends with Zhao Yunlan himself disappearing, Shen Wei must head the investigation. But when Zhao Yunlan returns he realizes Shen Wei is hiding something.

It had only been a few weeks. It was too soon to call it anything, this thing between them.
