Shen Wei yelps and tries to cover his eyes, knocking the phone out of Zhao Yunlan's hand in the process. It hits the ground, clattering against something hard, and the light goes out. “Sorry,” Shen Wei says sheepishly.

A suspicion begins to dawn. “Fuck, are you drunk?”

Ten thousand years before he's even born, Zhao Yunlan falls in love, all over again for the first time.

The allied forces celebrate a victory with a bonfire and music. Shen Wei and Kunlun are in their own little world.

In Episode 14, Zhao Yunlan did not sit down for tea with plans to seduce Shen Wei.

What if he had?

Shen Wei feigned genuine submissiveness about as well as he held his liquor — which was to say not at all. Zhao Yunlan had learned that the hard way on one of their first cases together so he was being very careful to vet anything he passed over to his… well. Partner, technically, but here and now they were up to their necks in potential suspects in the middle of an exclusive resort for wealthy men and their very human pets in pretty collars.

"Shhh," Wang Zhen tells him with such limpid disapproval Zhao Yunlan stops dead in his tracks. He sees his entire team, whispering quietly and clustered around -
