The discovery of the Longevity Dial leads Zhao Yunlan to a mysterious black-cloaked young man buried beneath the soil.

One of his braids had come undone and was falling across his face. He batted at it, resigned. He was untidy and disheveled, which was just so wrong for Shen Wei that Zhao Yunlan couldn’t help himself.

“Let me,” he said, and reached out to tuck the strands back.

Zhao Yunlan gets to take care of Shen Wei, and gets a little more back than he was expecting.
