There is no way Zhao Yunlan will be capable of having a whole conversation with anyone, and Shen Wei makes some quick decisions.

Not so surprisingly, there aren't that many jobs two people without any backgrounds and very little experience in much of anything relevant can do for money.

Zhao Yunlan sighs and bends down to pick up the cat. It's big enough that he definitely needs both arms to hold it. The cat pushes its head under Zhao Yunlan's chin, nuzzling at him and giving out a contented purr.

"So, how likely is it that someone is going to find us in—say, the next twenty-four hours?"

"Not very likely at all," he tells Zhao Yunlan. "Did you have something in mind?"

"This is hardly the ideal time," Shen Wei tells him. It isn't a good time at all, and this isn't the place for anything that might leave Zhao Yunlan even slightly weakened, but a frisson of dark excitement still runs through him just thinking about what they're about to do.

"Come on, it's not that bad," Zhao Yunlan says reasonably. "At least they don't understand what we're saying, right?" He raises a questioning eyebrow at Shen Wei, who nods in confirmation. "Unless you mind the idea of some aliens watching us getting off."

Zhao Yunlan feels better, even if he is trapped on an alien spaceship—probably.

Zhao Yunlan winds his hand into Shen Wei's hair and tugs lightly. "Let me comb your hair?"

Shen Wei smiles a little like he hadn't found asking people about rope bondage awkward in the least.

It's difficult to succeed every time, even with Shen Wei's cooking skills when you have no clue what half of the ingredients even are. Still, Shen Wei seems to think it's fun, and while Zhao Yunlan doesn't quite get it, he likes watching Shen Wei at it.

For a moment, irrationally he hopes that Shen Wei won't answer, that something is wrong with the ship. That the problem isn't Zhao Yunlan.

He watches Shen Wei go through the medical suite in their ship while he wonders what exactly Shen Wei is looking for.

Zhao Yunlan hasn't had a real shower in, well, he doesn't know how long.

He never quite expected Shen Wei to come back from work with this suggestion.

Zhao Yunlan wakes up in Shen Wei's dream.

“Get your mind out of the gutter, Lao Zhao,” Da Qing hissed at him, slinking out from behind a tree, already back in human form.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Zhao Yunlan proclaimed loftily as they headed towards the science faculty building to speak to the witness who had found the body.

“Please, you smelled like you were in heat when you saw the twins,” Da Qing said, making a face as he waved a hand in front of his nose.

Zhao Yunlan continued to feign ignorance. “So what if they’re twins. That’s not so strange.”

“They’re hot twins,” Da Qing insisted. “And you’re you.

A curious death at Dragon City University is the latest case to fall into the hands of the Special Investigations Department. As Zhao Yunlan investigates the crime scene, he meets Shen Wei and Ye Zun, the two most beautiful men he has ever seen in his life. They’re gorgeous, they’re intriguing and for some reason, they seem as drawn to Zhao Yunlan as he is to them, which just can’t be possible...right?

It's not something Zhao Yunlan has asked about, but he's seen how fast Shen Wei heals, and retaining those scars must have been deliberate. Whatever it means it has to be important somehow. It only makes sense that this young Shen Wei doesn't have them. Still, it looks strange somehow.

He thinks he could have summoned a portal days ago, to get them to their destination. He's not sure he wants to step into that space between worlds before he knows if this dark energy is affecting him differently. He definitely isn't ready to risk Zhao Yunlan's well being with a power he's not entirely sure about.

Zhao Yunlan looks up from the ground—he sort of needs to look where he's going, or he'll stumble on something—and glances over at Shen Wei. There's a light flush to Shen Wei's cheeks that makes Zhao Yunlan grin. It's so—cute.
