Shen Wei gets involved with Fat Bear Week.

Hardly anyone knew this, but Da Qing had not originally been this lazy as a cat. He remembers days past where he had to hunt every night for food, latching onto kindhearted humans during the winter for someplace to stay. Never letting his guard down in order to survive.

It was only because he trusted Zhao Yunlan, recognised the boy as his master that he allowed himself to let his guard down, laze around and accept his dried fish offerings.

The rain was unexpected.

One minute the sun shined, and the next moment, Chu Shuzhi and Guo Changcheng found dark clouds scudding quickly across the sky. When the wind kicked up there was a faint taste of dark energy upon it, showing the unnaturalness of the storm.

Neither Chu Shuzhi nor Guo Changcheng typically minded the rain, but this was more than just a drizzle. Water fell in veritable sheets and crashed to earth with the fuzzy sound of static.

It was a good thing they weren’t far from Chu Shuzhi’s apartment, not that it really mattered, as they ran. The heaviness of the rain eagerly soaked into their coats and down to their clothes beneath, and it plastered Changcheng’s moppish hair down around his face.

“Thank you, benefactor,” the witcher said, his hoarse voice sounding smoother after wetting his throat. “This life you saved…” he coughed, short and painful. “I’ll repay you, one day.”

“Aiya, don’t even think about that now, we’ll settle it someday,” Zhao Yunlan chuckled, but the witcher was already unconscious again.

"Well?" Zhao Yunlan asked, as soon as Shen Wei came back to himself. Nothing had changed around them, but Shen Wei had clearly been doing something with the Hallows.

Shen Wei took a breath, then another. Whatever it was had clearly tired him more than a little. After a moment, however, he seemed to recover. He looked at Zhao Yunlan and and a joyful smile spread across his face. "It's done. Come," he said, reaching for Zhao Yunlan.

Original summary: Guo Changcheng is a little nervous after proposing to Chu SHujzhi as a diversion during a case.

Bathrooms are very dangerous places in the Guardian drama universe! A variety of characters find themselves hypnotized, kidnapped, recruited to work undercover, or attacked in the bathroom; one even chooses a bathroom to record his Last Words.

I remembered that the Wizard Rock group Harry and the Potters had made a similar observation about the bathrooms in Hogwarts ... and thus a songvid was born!

The office door is locked.

He didn't really expect Shen Wei to be here, but once he started wondering if it would be too obvious, or so obvious that Shen Wei would assume he wouldn't look there first, or so obvious that Shen Wei would think that he would think that Shen Wei would think-- he figured he might as well stop by before trying other places.

So, other places then.

He grins as he greets him: “My love, welcome home.”

Shen Wei looks up, smiling softly: “I’m home.”

The smile is small and sweet but Zhao Yunlan can still see the exhaustion behind it, the tiredness painted inside his eyes.

“Did you just… teleport into my bathroom?” Zhao Yunlan says. “You did. You did just teleport into my bathroom.”

Chu Shuzhi finds a shop that grants wishes. He went in expecting smoke and mirrors, and perhaps to be down 50 yuan spent on crystals or snake oil. He did not expect Zhao Yunlan or Shen Wei to actually be magic, nor to find that wish granting is as profitable a business as they claimed. He definitely did not expect Guo Changcheng. Or to make a wish on his behalf.

In another life Shen Wei's still waiting for Yunlan to be reincarnated. Walking through the grey streets of December he finds a glimpse of his soul, embedded in a soft touch of snowflakes.
