The forest was always filled with some sort of sound, whether chirping birds, buzzing bugs, or the wind rustling the leaves, it was rarely quiet, but right now, there was a hush within the wooded area. A hush that was only broken by the intermittent noise of thrashing and what sounded like an animal in pain.

This was why Guo Changcheng currently crept as quietly as he could through the forest. He looked ahead of himself with a small dagger (his only weapon on hand) gripped tightly in one hand.

Eventually, he came upon the source of the disturbance, and what he saw made his eyes widen. “Oh no.” He breathed, “Oh no. We have to get you free.”

“They’ll be here soon.” Guo Changcheng fretted; his voice pitched higher with his worry as he risked a quick glance around the clearing.

Somewhere Zhao Yunlan found himself laid out quite haphazardly on the floor. It was a cold linoleum floor and objectively, he knew, it was likely very dirty, but for several gasped breaths he couldn’t find it in himself to care.

Not while his lungs still burned for air thanks to the completely overpowering strike that threw him three aisles over.

"Get him!" Those are the last words that leave Zhao Yunlan’s mouth as he disappears in the wormhole and Shen Wei doesn’t have the time to wonder, to think because if he doesn’t act now Zhao Yunlan might disappear forever.
So he runs forward, grabs Ye Zun’s arm and pulls both of them into the wormhole, before it disappears.

"Why? I mean, why do you fight? You don't—" Zhao Yunlan lets the sentence die out, what's he going to say, seem like the type? Shen Wei doesn't seem like it, but it's not like Zhao Yunlan knows him.
