Thousands of years ago there was a great war between the god Kunlun with his immortal army, led by his beloved General Shen Wei, against all the other gods and clans of Haixing. After so many sacrifices, in the end, they had sealed Shen Wei and killed Kunlun. Only to find out that the god had managed to save his soul in order to reincarnate.

Ye Zun, the Guardian of the realms and protector of the Treaty, had vowed to kill every single incarnation of the selfish god. He and Da Qing had managed to do this for ten thousand years.

But Da Qing suddenly vanished and Ye Zun was left alone not knowing that his enemy was once again born into the world.

Xia Yue decided to move to a new city in the hopes of starting a new life. As she contemplates where to live, a former colleague offers one—a haunted unit in the famous SNG Condominiums. With desperation to leave everything else behind, she accepted the deal and moved in the next day. A malevolent spirit lurking in there? Sure, it’s nothing to her.

Enter Shen Ye, a famous actor and model, was her neighbor. A man who swooned the heart of the ladies and evoked admiration in men. Despite only a few years in the entertainment industry, there were already many achievements attached to his name.

The mysterious neighbors began suspecting each other after their first encounter by their adjacent balconies. It was at this time that fate decided to play it’s part in their lives. A strong invisible force began to entangle the strings as everything else began to change—the scenery, inexplicable feelings, the uneventful situations they were both in, and Xia Yue found herself reminiscing her tragic past she ultimately wished to be forgotten.

“They’re hiding something from us about this Kunlun person. Fu You and Ma Gui were suspiciously reticent about where his men are and how we can use his people in our battle tactics. I think— What is in your mouth?”

“Kunlun calls it a ‘lollipop’. It’s a type of sweetmeat. Do you want to try it?” Shen Wei explained as he pulled out the lollipop from between his lips and offered it to Ye Zun.

Taking the white stick gingerly between his fingers, Ye Zun asked with dismay, “And you were eating that in front of Kunlun?”

Shen Wei blinked. “Yes?”

Despite the ongoing Allied War and the fruitless attempts to retrieve the Hallows, Shen Wei is grateful to have Ye Zun by his side again, far more settled and content now than he has been for years. The arrival of Kunlun, charming and irrepressible, brings unexpected changes to their lives.

Kunlun was renown for two things: How much he detested getting into conflicts of any kind and the length of his hair. These two things were somewhat related. It was often said that nothing would cause this stubborn god to shear his head, but times change, don't they?

An extended epilogue/sequel to Every Door a Death. Will probably make no sense unless you read that one first.

Wang Zheng covered xiao-Guo’s young, impressionable ears so Lin Jing could answer Zhu Hong. “The chief and Professor Shen are doing each other. I’m saying that with ninety-eight percent confidence.”

Set between eps 14 and 15.

It sounds so—stereotypical. Zhao Yunlan, oh yeah, right. The angry teenager.

What if Zhao Yunlan first met the Black Cloaked Envoy a lot earlier, and in very different circumstances?

Zhao Yunlan gets to be the caretaker for a change.

Shen Wei absolutely cannot let himself forget the fact that he's an angel. Because if he forgets, he’ll forget that Zhao Yunlan is a demon.

And he’ll forget that Zhao Yunlan is dangerous.

Zhao Yunlan is going to be having a Very, Very Serious Conversation with future Shen Wei, when he figures out how to get himself back there.

Or: the one in which Zhao Yunlan accidentally marries Shen Wei in the deep and distant past.

“I kept your jacket,” Shen Wei says in a thoughtful, quiet voice. “The one you lent me.”

It’s the first thing he’s said since they both walked out of that disaster of a wedding, and it’s wholly unexpected.

Zhao Xinci nearly has a heart attack when his five year old son sneaks out of his office while the Black Cloaked Envoy is at the Special Investigation Department. (See, this was why he kept telling his wife not to bring Ah Lan to his work.) The boy attaches himself to the Dixingren's leg and refuses to let go. Oddly enough, other than seeming surprised and uncharacteristically flustered, the Black Cloaked Envoy doesn't really seem to mind at all.
