He steps into his office at the university expecting it to be familiar and comfortable, a favourite suit of clothes.

It’s strange enough to know the great Black-Cloaked Envoy lives as a Haixingren, dresses in Haixing clothes, works at a Haixing university teaching hapless Haixing students younger than Xiao Guo. Stranger still to receive his summons to a residential address in this leafy suburb.

Zhao Yunlan likes how strong Shen Wei is. This proves disruptive to cleaning day.

Zhao Yunlan and Wu Xie meet in a queer bar on a cold January night in Shanghai, over drinks and stories of broken hearts. The problem for both was that they - or those with them - didn't know what they wanted before, in a very recent past.
The problem for both of them now, is that they know exactly what they want.

Shen Wei knows perfectly about "him". Things have changed for some time now, but he is still part of SID and Zhao Yunlan's life. But Zhao Yunlan's life sometimes brings unexpected things to life that Shen Wei thought he would lead alone.

Note: I set out to write something angsty, incorporating prompts from Dorinda's Yuletide letter, but as soon as I put pixels to screen, the fic looked at me and said, "No. I can be morbidly humorous or partially crack, but I refuse to be angsty." It was very firm about the matter. So ... this is not precisely what I set out to write, but I hope y'all enjoy it anyway!

Chu-ge buys Changcheng his favorite pastries, because of course he does.

Zhao Yunlan was asleep.

Or he was, as Zhao Yunlan’s eyes suddenly opened. Muzzily, because Zhao Yunlan’s brain was still very much asleep, he tried to ascertain what the hell woke him up, and for that matter, why was his bed so damn uncomfortable.

Zhao Yunlan placed a hand against the mattress and at the feel of rough grass and dirt, everything flooded back.

Shen Wei pulled his hand free. “Well,” he said, calmly, “it appears there’s no longer any need for the deception.”

Zhao Yunlan didn’t realize how much he hated the Hallows until they threw him nine decades into the past. With no other options, he and Shen Wei can only wait on the SID to get them back, settling into an apartment that affords them a place to stay, but with limited privacy. They manage to make the arrangement work, but the longer Zhao Yunlan lives with Shen Wei in the past, the more he finds himself dreaming of a home they might share in the future.
