Everyone at Dragon City University knew about Professor Shen. He was the professor who always had a full class every semester, even with students who had no interest in the field of biology. His kind and strict reputation as the department head was on par with his equally famous reputation for perfecting the "sexy professor who wants you to succeed" look.

But, equally as famous as the professor was his husband, Zhao YunLan. The man whose mischievous and playful smirk made it known he knew the effect he had on people- especially to the vulnerable Professor Shen who he had wrapped around his finger.

Shen Wei looks Zhao Yunlan up and down. He’s a little dirty and his clothes a bit more scuffed than they usually are, but he looks whole and hale. Whatever happened, Shen Wei was able to properly protect Zhao Yunlan. Possibly to the cost of his own health.

Shen Wei smothers a spike of smugness under his well-worn blanket sentiment of having no regret. “I’m sorry," he lies.

Shen Wei wakes up after his fall and finds that ten thousand years have passed since then.

There is peace reigning in the world currently, while the three sects are living in harmony, and there doesn't seem to be a need for Hei Pao Shi anymore.

Shen Wei deals with this as best as he can, while he tries to fit in, in a world which has moved on without him.

Shen Wei brings only two things of note when he moves into the house Zhao Yunlan bought for the two of them. One is a closet full of exquisitely tailored suits. The other is an enormous wooden box, carefully padded and sectioned, containing the multitudes of portraits Shen Wei has kept throughout his lifetime.

While chasing after the shadow, Shen Wei gets hit by a car. Because he was in front of sì many people, he couldn’t heal himself.

"I don't need to be indulged," Zhao Yunlan told him.

"Naturally not," Shen Wei said.

Zhao Yunlan grinned back at him. "I like it when you do, though."

Chief Zhao Yunlan was intrigued by Prof.Shen Wei. The more Shen Wei kept quiet, Zhao Yunlan's curiosity increased.
