Zhao Yunlan rolls his eyes. "No, because I don't have any Dixing powers the last time I checked. Maybe Shen Wei can —" he starts to say, then falls silent.

“Whatever you are thinking, stop right this instant. Heipaoshi is definitely out of your league. He possesses all the powers and is ruthless in a fight. He wears a mask and a black robe. If you see this figure anywhere then you know you have to run,” the cat replied in all seriousness, giving Zhao Yunlan a shrewd look.

“You and your funny weapon would be no match for him,” he added, as if he suspected Zhao Yunlan of having an amazing plan of assassinating the Dixing general.

Da Qing maintained that by being nearby he could keep an eye on these newly arrived Dixingren. After all, it was his job as Deputy Chief of SID to maintain the peace of Haixing.

Professor Shen was in regular clothes, but there was still some of the Black-Cloaked Envoy’s gravity about him. It had been like that a lot lately. “Da Qing, I know it’s late, but can I give you a small assignment?”

Maybe his job at the SID is getting to him, but he started to think that he was coming down with something serious soon after he walked through the office doors on his first day. Whatever it was, he's very, very certain it will kill him one day, and soon. So he seeks the help of local biology professor and Dixingian expert Shen Wei. Shen Wei's diagnosis isn't what he expects.

It's not exactly surprising or unexpected that it happens. Shen Wei should have expected it, all things considered. He supposes he just didn't expect Zhao Yunlan to get so impatient that he'd bike over on his lunch break and corner Shen Wei at his desk.

Zhao Yunlan stops by Shen Wei's office for lunch.

Then the dust settles, and it’s like they have no reason to touch each other. There are no injuries, no near death experiences. No Hallows for Zhao Yunlan to impulsively grab and have Shen Wei come sweeping in to grip at him and scold him.
