Zhao Yunlan’s thoughts about Shen Wei when his stomach hurts. Again.

Set during episode 12, lab scene: Shen Wei has an unexpected reaction to Zhao Yunlan trying to wake him after the test. Zhao Yunlan has an unexpected reaction to Shen Wei.

There is what happened, and then there is how you *interpret* what happened.

Shen Wei has a small desire he’s afraid to admit. But thankfully his husband can solve any puzzle.

“My field of research is genetic mutation,” said Shen Wei, and then, in case scientific credentials didn’t suffice to explain his knowledge, “And my flatmate is Yashou.”

“Flatmate, huh? Snake, Crow or Flower Tribe?” Chief Zhao lit the fresh cigarette and took a long draw, then nearly choked on the smoke. “Wait, you mean the cat?”

This is an unexpected sight in Zhao Yunlan's apartment. It is partly because his apartment is all neat, and the fact that he has the tiny Black-Cloaked Envoy do the dishes for him just added in it. Don't get him wrong, Zhao Yunlan did offer to help but the Envoy just raised his eyebrow at him and gave him a look as if asking him whether he was sure or not. So yeah, Zhao Yunlan decided to be the bad host he is and sit on the couch while watching the Black-Cloaked Envoy doing his things.

Zhao Yunlan can’t fucking believe that he first hears about this from Lao Chu of all people. A Dixingren tradition so important literally everyone knows about it? One relevant to intimate relationships of all kinds, including the kind where two (or more) people have bought a house together, saved the world together, have lots of really astoundingly good sex together? Naturally, Shen Wei has never mentioned it.

Chapter 75 it finally happens and we get no details, but heres a little something to hopefully fill in the blanks.

Nothing much. Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei turn into babies.

Zhu Yilong stands shy yet excited in front of a hidden audience of two loved ones, dressed in the lace and silks they've picked out for him. A smile plays at his lips, body flushing at their captive gazes.

"You can't even see anything," Bai Yu says softly, stepping behind him. Making him turn just enough to face the mirror. His arms are wrapped around Zhu Yilong, and he kisses his neck briefly before resting his chin on his shoulder. "Look."

The Black Cloaked Envoy needs to have sex with a Dixingren in order to survive. Zhao Yunlan helps.

"Why didn't anyone tell me Heipaoshi is a giant?" Zhao Yunlan asks.

It really seems like the kind of thing someone should have mentioned.

Zhao Yunlan fell ass first back in time through the vortex and landed in a pile of hay. He'd thought his life a chance to heal the pain that Kunlun's death had caused Shen Wei.

But he couldn't heal that pain; he could only cause it.

It's a relationship of sorts, and still more than most people ever get.

Zhao Yunlan reflects on the strange year he's spent living (and falling in love) with two brothers who are night and day.

She had the best chance of recognising people only if they remained in the same clothes, and if they stood by themselves.

Which was how they found themselves here, doing their best to nonchalantly stroll through the park at midnight, standing close enough together that their sleeves would brush against each other when they turned and doing their best to keep from drawing her attention.

They're finally thinking about getting a house.
