A little something I did for the Guardian Anniversary Celebration! over at dreamwidth.

"There was a locked drawer in Shen Wei’s study. In this drawer was a simple wooden box, almost as big as the drawer itself. In the box were the random bits of scrap paper, post-it notes, and cards."

In which Da Qing and Zhao Yunlan swap bodies, and Zhao Yunlan naturally takes the opportunity to spy on Shen Wei. (Let’s call it recon.)

The end of the team dinner in episode 14, and what came after.

“You have responsibilities, Chief Zhao. You should take better care of yourself.” Shen Wei does that judgey thing with his eyebrows that no doubt sends his students wailing with despair.

Yunlan is made of sterner stuff, but his sheepishness still feels more real than before. “Ah. I'm trying? You said I could have breakfast with you any time.”

Da Qing is not losing anyone else.

And then I saw you in God's meeting place

He's not moping. Zhao Yunlan doesn't mope, no matter what his minions at work think.

Da Qing starts to move on with his life with a little help from a friend.

Shen Wei is very confused (it's all right; Zhao Yunlan is there to catch him.)

Shen Wei doesn’t invite Zhao Yunlan to the university’s Coming Out Ball. They go anyway, and the entire SID team goes with them.

Daqing watches Zhao Yunlan meet Professor Shen. He doesn’t remember the last time, but he can already tell this time will be a disaster.

Shen Wei remembers meeting Zhao Yunlan for the first time. There had been something different about him—about Kunlun. They’d all heard of the rumored Kunlun-jun, and with his name, the promise of an end to the conflict.
But he’d appeared suddenly, and strangely, alone.

Shen Wei sees the world a bit differently from everyone else, but it never mattered until he met Kunlun.

Basically just the "you're worth it" scene from Zhao Yunlan's perspective.

Zhao Yunlan goes to a society event, sees everyone else get to flirt with Shen Wei, and drags him home for some boning. Shen Wei is more than happy to go along with it.
