It's the day before Christmas but Zhao Yunlan still hasn't found a gift for Shen Wei.

Sometimes love is saving each others' lives or dramatic displays of self-sacrifice. Other times, it's a plastic bag filled with takeaway at the end of a long day.

Zhao Yunlan comes home to find a mysterious envelope shoved under his door, one that reveals some he's not been as clever at hiding his feelings for Shen Wei as he'd thought.

This is my Weilan Weeks submission for Week 6 - Free Theme

Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei enjoy domestic bliss as they cuddle on the sofa.

Zhao Yunlan is thoughtful, even though he doesn’t see it himself. He is also so bright that his mere presence lightens up the dark interior of Shen Wei’s workshop. He’s smiling that easy, charming smile of his and it’s hard to look away from him. But his face looks just like Kunlun’s so Shen Wei doesn’t want to ever stop looking either way.

Engineer Shen Wei creates a doll unlike any other but his resolve falters the more time he spends with Zhao Yunlan, a man looking exactly like Kunlun.

Maybe it wasn't such a terrible idea after all.

Shen Wei needs to go on a dangerous mission. Zhao Yunlan tries to convince him not to.

"If you were the trouble, I'd like that by the dozen; enough to bother me my whole life."

Zhao Yunlan's telephone doesn't ring.

After the end, Zhao Yunlan wakes up.

The annual Haixing Conference on Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering was held at the University of Tomorrow Mountain two months after Professor Shen's mysterious injury, by which point he'd recovered sufficiently to attend.

After everything Shen Wei did for him, how could he be such an idiot and assume that just friendship? 

Friendship ha....bullshit. 

Now he couldn't tell Shen Wei how he felt anymore. 

Because Shen Wei is gone now, forever and he would never see him again. 

Zhao Yunlan is burning. 

He's tired. 

He just wanted to sleep.

Thrown ten thousand years in the past, Zhao Yunlan searches for a way to win a war and save Shen Wei.

Zhu Yilong wants to take care of Bai Yu, but after everything that was revealed to him, he doubts his worthiness.

"I'm so sorry Bai Zong..."

It began with the cat, yowling on about the high cost of Dragon City rents.

"Buying a house won’t cost less than renting here.” For all its faults, Zhao Yunlan had to concede that his apartment was cheap.

"You won’t be buying the house alone," Da Qing explained. "You’re going to get Professor Shen to help you.”

Da Qing watches as Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan argue, and then make up. It's a familiar routine.

They’re standing awkwardly in the corridor by their apartments. They’ve run out of trite phrases – “I’ll see you tomorrow” and “I guess I’ll turn in now” – but there’s still an undercurrent fizzing between them, something that neither is quite ready to act on, and yet neither is able to completely ignore either.
