The Sha Ya case begins! Featuring meaningful eye contact while searching for clues and *more* secrets from Shen Wei.
Merit Brush Confrontation
Following Lin Jing's tip last episode, the SID manages to surround the Merit Brush owner, after having found out his identity.
Battle couple stance activate!
They have a nice friendly chat, at the end of which Ya Qing flies the guy away.
Haixing Research Facility
Meanwhile, after Sha Ya invades the Haixing Research Lab, Li Qian sends a secret e-mail to Shen Wei & Zhao Yunlan about the events.
Shen Wei, Zhao Yunlan and Da Qing make their way to the lab.
They are greeted by a welcoming committee of Minister Gao and Vice-Minister Guo.
Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei play "irreverent, charming cop" and "murder-eyes cop."

Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan decides to investigate further after seeing who they think is Li Qian being led away. But before they continue, they exchange a meaningful look.
Off the elevator to a locked door.
Some very necessary hand-grabbing to stop Shen Wei from using his powers to open the lock panel.
Zhao Yunlan then shows off a Lin Jing gadget that gets them into the lab.
Clue analysis huddle! After a very scientific analysis by Da Qing's nose, they determine that the vial that Zhao Yunlan stepped on smells of Dixingren. The research lab is working on something to give humans superpowers.
Zhao Xinci
Shen Wei confronts Zhao Xinci about the experiments in the Haixing Research Lab. Zhao Xinci justifies it all as self-defense.
Here is Shen Wei's very telling reaction when Zhao Xinci pointedly brings up protecting the person they both care about.
Speaking of whom, Zhao Yunlan passes by and catches sight of their meeting.
So when Shen Wei leaves, he is confronted by a glaring Zhao Yunlan. He is 500% done and you can see it in his eyes.
Shen Wei walks over to Zhao Yunlan, looking every bit the contrite kid who just got into huge trouble.
Shen Wei is totally sleeping on the couch tonight.
Zhao Yunlan: I've always treated you as the love of my life my closest friend.
To his credit, Shen Wei does reveal some information about his connection to Zhao Xinci. But Zhao Yunlan is now wondering if he can still trust Shen Wei.
I can't decide who Zhao Yunlan is more annoyed at here, Shen Wei or himself. Because every time he has doubts, he chooses to trust Shen Wei.
The two of them leave this argument there, as they receive a call from the SID.
SID Investigation
Here, we have another patented Zhao Yunlan sprawl, as he talks to Shen Wei and the rest of the SID. Their main clue here is an earring dropped by the culprit. Zhu Hong says it's too common to track down to any woman. But Lin Jing helpfully narrows down the suspects by acting like the most suspicious person ever before running to find his crush.
That silent communication. The brush of their hands.
The Nightclub AU
The episode ends on a "chase," where Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan track down Sha Ya at the nightclub where she performs.
This sequence is also known as: The scriptwriters give us a fantastic series of scenes for an undercover at a nightclub AU fanvid.
Then, the lights go out and Sha Ya escapes.
